Mouseman Visitor Centre and Gallery
The centre is based in Kilburn near Thirsk and follows the life and work of Robert Thompson, “The Mousemanof Kilburn”, the world famous furniture maker and wood carver. Newly refurbished visitor centre, showroom, viewing gallery, gardens, café and gift shop. |
Sion Hill Hall
Kirby Wiske near Thirsk. The Hall was designed in 1912 by renowned York architect Walter H Brierley. Including Falconry UK Bird of Prey Centre, featuring a large collection of owls, hawks, falcons, buzzards and eagles from around the world. |

The Thirsk Museum
Here, in the house where Thomas Lord, founder of Lord’s Cricket Ground, was born in 1755, you’ll find eight rooms full of local history, including the infamous Busby Stoop Chair. We also provide a wide range of services, particularly for schools, and there’s a thriving Museum Society too. Thirsk Museum is in Kirkgate, just across the road from The World of James Herriot. |
